Adam Ebbin on the Bob Marshall Team!

Lowell Feld at Blue Virginia posted the following from the Arlington County Democratic Committee approving a resolution attacking Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli for opposing ObamaCare. http://www.bluevirginia.us/diary/246/arlington-democrats-reslution-on-cuccinellis-attack-on-health-care-reform

Unfortunately, Lowell and the blue (depressed???) Democrats forgot that a majority of the House Democrats (led by Democratic so-called Leader Ward Armstrong and Jennifer McClellan) voted for Delegate Bob Marshall's HB10 which asserts Virginia's rights. The final vote was 80-17 (
http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?101+vot+HV1520+HB0010 )

In fact, there were even some Dem votes from Fairfax and even one from Arlington.....

......we always new that Delegate Bob Marshall and Delegate Adam Ebbin had a lot in common!

21 DEM YEAS (of 39 House Dems) for Delegate Bob Marshall's HB10--
Armstrong, BaCote, Barlow, Dance, Ebbin, Howell, A.T., James, Joannou, Johnson, Keam, Lewis, McClellan, McQuinn, Miller, P.J., Morrissey, Phillips, Pollard, Tyler, Ward, Ware, O., Watts,

Unfortunately – you got your facts all wrong in your post.

First, I can tell you didn’t read our post at all because the very first sentence informs you that it is a proposed draft resolution that has not actually been approved yet, and won’t be until tomorrow night’s meeting. Second, I wrote the post and not Lowell – he was nice enough to promote it, but I can tell by your failure to recognize that the resolution hasn’t been approved yet that you’re not a big stickler for the details.

Also unfortunate is that you failed to mention that the majority of Arlington House Democrats did vote against it: Brink, Englin, and Hope. So our House representation is actually 3 to 1 against.

Furthermore, the entire premise of your post is ridiculous and I probably wouldn’t have bothered commenting on it if weren’t so inaccurate. Additionally, your formatting is terrible and blog color scheme is horrendous.

I do NOT agree with Bob's bill. There were actually four bills dealing with mandated health coverage and I voted against all four (HB 10, SB 283, SB 311 and SB 417) on initial passage. I did erroneously vote for HB 10's Senate substitute.

Passing more than 1,700 bills in only forty-something floor sessions it is easy to make errors--in this case not knowing until it was raised after the legislative session. I know I made an unintentional error, which was inconsistent with my other votes on the same issue, on voting to accept HB 10's Senate substitute. It is particularly easy to make a mistake when voting on "accepting Senate amendments" or "accepting the Senate substitute," because those votes go much faster than initial passage.

Discussing one vote out of five only tells part of the story. Thanks for the opportunity to set the record straight.
