Internal Turmoil Amongst the Democratic Party of Virginia

Since the recent announcement of DPV Chairman Dickie Cranwell’s resignation, it has been widely believed that Brian Moran would take over as the DPV Chairman. However, this has some Democratic Party members worried and questioning the selection process.

Del. Joe Morrissey has been the most outspoken about his displeasure, going so far as to call out former Governor’s Tim Kaine and Mark Warner, who have been reported to be backing Brain Moran

With due respect to former Govs. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, I think they should have tried to determine what the roughly 5 dozen Democratic lawmakers who are up for re-election next year thought about the next State Party Chairman”

Sounds like Del. Morrissey seems worried, and rightfully so, that Brian Moran lacks the skill to win elections outside of Arlington County, as Moran's race for Governor proved. The Democrats again show that they are headed towards a downward spiral, with no clear leadership and turmoil amongst their party.
