74%

Rasmussen just released this poll. The long and the short of it is...people are fine with Voter ID laws(74%). Further, the people have been fine with Voter ID laws(71% a year ago), and the trend is that more people are coming to that conclusion.

Eating Crow on Voter Fraud

There is definitely something in this story that I can relate to. For the life of me, I can't put my finger on it...

I HAVE AN ORDER FOR MCCLELLAN?
DELEGATE JENNIFER MCCLELLAN?!
OH, wait. Now, voter fraud isn't a myth when it becomes an issue for powerful Democrats?  As expected, there is plenty of crow to go around. Several have even come forward to try to disqualify their party-mate's own assertions.

It didn't take long for cries to emerge, "BUT this wasn't a state election! This was OUR primary!"

Well, YOUR primary election is under investigation for fraud, and no amount of rhetorical somersaults is going to change that.

It is being taken up in many circles that this was also a firehouse primary, and doesn't bear parliamentary symmetry with general elections run by SBE. That makes no difference when, for years, the Democrat line on voter fraud is that it is imaginary.

So go ahead, try to make this about abortion or Medicaid. This river of comeuppance will not be so easy to misdirect. I wonder what Joe Morrissey is going to think when he has the time to read this...

This is How Unpopular Voter ID Laws Are

A poll analysis, posted yesterday by the Washington Post has confirmed that "nearly three-quarters of all Americans support the idea that people should have to show photo identification to vote."

This poll lends credence to what House Republicans have been saying on the matter for years, and reflects a heightened concern for the integrity of Virginia's elections. About half of people polled saw voter fraud as a "major problem" and the issue carried a majority of pollers when it was weighed against the risks of "voter suppression".

A majority of those polled discerned that keeping elections fair was the big motivator, as well. Three quarters of seniors, low-income subjects, as well as two thirds of non-whites support the measures.

Maybe Joe Morrissey should bring a ballot box onto the House Floor for his next stunt.

Holder's Hold-up: DOJ Still Silent on Voter Fraud Debacle

"In two counties, the number of registered voters actually exceeds the voting-age population..."

...touts a Columbus Dispatch article from September, 2012. Certain counties had 109% of their voting-eligible populous registered. To put that in perspective, the national average hovers around 70. This is an extreme case, and thanks to the GOP's early response to this threat and Virginia's Voter Identification law, on June 11, the Commonwealth won't have to deal with the gross over-registration, double-registration, and fraud that Ohio's Board of Elections is going to have to wade through to clean the rolls. But, it's a sobering example of what could have happened if Dems (you reading this, Delegates Morrissey and McClellan?) had been successful in stalling the law two sessions ago.

The real story here is the deaf ear that the Obama/Holder Department of Justice is turning to the problem.

This problem was discovered in an extremely important electoral state, BEFORE the November election.  Ohio's Secretary of State sent the Attorney General Holder a letter, again before the election, asking for the power to correct this large-scale voter fraud mess that his state was(and still is) in. He received no response at all. To date, he has not received a response.

And while Bad Luck Eric is already on the hook for bugging the AP, hiding documents from Congress, and any number of other scandals, this is huge, and it does not deserve to be buried. Is it not odd that the chief of the Department of Justice is already billed as protecting the administration from its constituents. Stalling any action, or possibly even ignoring this glaring problem in a state that conveniently turned blue, does not cast Holder in a good light.

At best, this is incompetence, at worst it is obstruction; and it is another nail in the coffin of an already catastrophe-studded "career".

Dem Misdirection on Voter ID, and Why No One is Shocked

Recently, Governor McDonnell signed a law that requires voters to be able to provide a photo ID in order to cast a ballot. Before the ink was even dry on the bill, cries of "voter suppression" were rising on the left. Shocker, I know. ABC 7 news published this article yesterday, and while the title is true, there are several shocking examples of misinformation.

The article claims that Virginia's original voter ID bill, which was enacted to respond to several instances of voter fraud in the Commonwealth, was enacted to "prevent President Barack Obama from winning Virginia for the second presidential election in a row"....or it could have been the many documented cases of voter fraud here (predominantly on the left), culminating with the investigation of Patrick Moran for soliciting voter fraud just last year on the campaign of his father, Congressman Jim Moran.

Dems are attacking straw men and hiding behind feeble allegations that the elderly, and the low-income urban populations won't be able to vote under the law. The question is why not? The tired old allegations that are rising over the law have all been covered before.

At this point, no one can be expected to believe that a law that: 1)  can be satisfied by one of the most common documents in America, a driver's license, 2) provides a FREE photo ID to anyone that needs one and applies for it, and 3) carries a mandate for the State Board of Elections to educate the public about it, is the deadly sword of tyrrany falling against the cringing masses of Virginia's voters.

The common-sense answer is that there is nothing standing in the way of a registered voter having their voice heard. This legislation just seeks to stamp out the kind of underhanded tactics that some people (Wendy Rosen) use to win elections. At the end of the day, no one is surprised that the organized left is fighting this measure that ensures the integrity of our elections. They stand to lose the most by having fraud stamped out.

Voter Suppression in Chicago?

A horrible crime has taken place. Right here in the U.S. of A., in Illinois, voter suppression-style ID laws are being used to keep down the vote. These racist pollsters had the gall to ask this African-American (pictured below) early voter to show his identification to cast his ballot.

Delegates Morrissey and McClellan! Where are you to crusade?!

President Obama quipped to pollsters about the suspicious lack of gray hair in the driver's license he showed to Chicago electoral workers. Democratic efforts to offset their disadvantage on Election Day by urging early voting and absentee ballots have been in full swing. President Obama himself tweeted his supporters to "join me".

While all across the nation, blue-staters decry the unfair "vote suppressing" that follows voter identification laws; in Illinois, the greatest among them had no problem whatsoever presenting his, as required by law, to vote early.

Recent developments in Virginia as well as other locales across the nation have led many to believe that Democratic poll tampering is a real risk in this election. Does that have something to do with the deafening silence that we are hearing from the usual proponents of the absurd idea of "voter suppression"?

DNC: ID Please?

Virginia Delegation, if you are headed to the DNC, don't forget your ID. The Virginia Delegation to the DNC has already been warned to be on their best behavior this week... Surprisingly, though, without a state-issued identification card, they won't be able to get in at all.

This week in Charlotte, attendees at the Democratic National Convention are going to be required to prove their identity to get in... There is a clear disconnect here. Why can't everyone just provide their name and be who they say they are?

Democrats have come out against voter identification across the board. Page 52, Democratic Platform, "we refuse to allow political pretexts to disenfranchise American citizens." And yet they see their convention as a more important venue to identify participants than voting for the national election. This seems very much political, and indeed is a pretext.

The facts bear that there is little difference between what the Democratic National Committee is doing, and what Virginia Democrats are on such a rampage over.

Have a look at the DNC's website sign-up. About one third of the way down the page is that oh-so-important sentence that puts the Democratic argument against voter identification on its head.

The message that is being sent is: a person needs an ID to simply WATCH President Obama SPEAK, but the need for an ID to vote, a far more important function than a party convention, is unreasonable...

Obama's DOJ approves Virginia Voter ID LAWS.

Senator Don McEachin, Delegate Joe Morrissey, and Delegate Jennifer McClellan were proven wrong again today when they said Virginia's voter ID laws were discriminatory. Even the Obama administration agrees that these laws are appropriate.

The Department of Justice has now confirmed the legitimacy of Virginia's Voter Identification law. The official announcement came from Governor Bob McDonnell Monday night, and is a big stride in assuring Virginians that in November's election, and in the future Virginia electoral process, we keep fraud out of the Commonwealth.

Opponents of the plan have labeled it discriminatory. However, Virginia's reasonable, common-sense Voter ID law is a legitimate way to ensure Virginia's elections. This is a step in the right direction to making sure Virginians have a voice in their government through their vote.
